1About these terms

These terms apply to the HyperTube Music desktop app and to this website. By downloading, installing or using either of them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

HyperTube Music is made by a group of independent contributors. In these terms, "we" and "us" means the people who maintain the project.

2What HyperTube Music is

HyperTube Music is an open source app that lets you use YouTube Music on your computer. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Google or YouTube. We do not host, sell or own any of the music, videos, podcasts or artwork you find in the app. All of it comes from YouTube.

3Your use of YouTube

When you use HyperTube Music, you are still using YouTube. That means YouTube's Terms of Service and Google's Terms of Service apply to you, including any limits they set on how their content can be used. You are responsible for following those terms and the laws where you live, for example when you download music to listen offline.

Google may limit or close an account that breaks its rules. We have no control over that and cannot restore an account for you.

4License

The app's source code is released under the GNU General Public License, version 3. You may use, study, change and share it under that license. Nothing in these terms takes away any right the license gives you. The HyperTube Music name and logo identify this project, so please do not use them in a way that suggests a changed copy is the official app.

5Where to get the app

The official builds are published only on this website and on the project's GitHub page. Copies from anywhere else may have been changed, and we cannot vouch for them. Each release lists a SHA-256 checksum for every file, so you can check that a download has not been altered.

6No warranty

HyperTube Music is provided as is, without any warranty. We work hard to make it reliable, but it may contain bugs. YouTube can also change how its service works at any time, which may stop some features from working until the app is updated.

7Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, the people behind HyperTube Music are not responsible for any loss or damage that comes from using the app or this website, including lost data, interrupted listening or problems with your Google account.

8Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when the app gains new features. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If you keep using the app or the website after a change, you accept the updated terms.
